What We Offer

Programs & Sports

Powerhouse Elite is a primarily competition-focused gym. Here's what we offer and what each discipline is all about.

Novice → Open Level 4

Competition Cheer Teams

We have beginner competition levels in Novice all the way through to our Advanced Open Level 4. Each team has different training requirements and skill levels, giving every athlete a clear pathway to grow and compete.

All Ages & Levels

Allstar Cheerleading

Allstar cheerleading is a competitive sport that combines stunting, tumbling, jumps, and dance into a 2.5-minute routine performed on a spring floor. Teams are divided by age and skill level and compete under IASF rules at local, national, and international events.

Jazz · Hip Hop · Pom

Competition Dance

We currently offer Allstar Competition Jazz, Hip Hop, and Pom for both primary-aged and high school students. Our dance teams compete in 3 competitions per year across NSW.

Inclusive Competition

All Ability Program

Our All Ability teams are open to athletes with physical or intellectual disabilities who want to experience the joy of competing in allstar cheer and dance. We have dedicated All Ability Cheer, Pom, and Hip Hop squads.

Beginner → Level 5

Tumbling

Tumbling is a core skill in allstar cheerleading. We offer structured tumbling classes from beginner through to advanced (Level 1–5), helping athletes develop safe and progressive skills on our sprung floor.

No Experience Needed

Recreational Programs

Not ready for competition? Our recreational classes are a great way to try cheer and dance in a fun, low-pressure environment. Open to all ages — no experience needed.

How We Got Here

Our History

2019

Where It All Began

Powerhouse Elite was founded by Keira Dobson with a single vision: to create a gym where athletes of all ages and abilities could thrive. It started by hiring a small hall with 3 mats and a lot of grit — Keira coached every class solo, whilst also working full-time at the Australian College of Physical Education.

2019

First Competition Season

Our debut competition season was a massive success — we took home two national titles and placed top 5 in many divisions. By the end of the year we had also moved into our own warehouse, giving Powerhouse Elite a permanent home to grow from.

2021

Growing Through Adversity

Like every gym, we faced the challenges of a global pandemic. But Powerhouse Elite adapted, kept our community connected, and came back stronger. Our athlete numbers grew and our programs expanded to meet the demand.

2022

Bigger Warehouse, Bigger Dreams

We upgraded to a bigger warehouse and continued to grow — adding multiple dance and cheer teams as our community expanded and demand for quality coaching increased.

2023

Expanding Programs

We launched new programs including All Ability, Adult & Open Age, and expanded our Dance offerings to include Hip Hop, Jazz, and Pom. Every athlete deserves a place at Powerhouse — and we made sure of it.

2024

A New Home in Smeaton Grange

We outgrew our space and moved into our newest warehouse and location in Smeaton Grange. The extra room allowed us to add more classes and staff, continuing to develop our athletes in both cheer and dance.

Today

2026 — Our Best Year Yet

We are now in a beautiful purpose-built facility in Smeaton Grange, complete with a sprung floor, dance studio, foyer, and all the equipment our athletes need to thrive. With 17 competition teams, a growing recreational program, and our earliest athletes now competing at the highest levels — the future of Powerhouse Elite has never looked brighter.
